I prefer to reach my readers more when I have something I want them to think about rather than just to make "small talk" although no talk is really "small" if it is received well...so...I guess I have to post more often or more profoundly. Any suggestions?

Ah, my first reply to 'this' forum. My suggestion would be to make more blog posts about what is happening in your industry. If you're a dentist, for example, and you see on CNN that a thousand dentists in your state are picketing some new labor law, what is your response? Blog about it. Lots happening out there.
