| In my continuing search for readers and writers, I recently discovered Published Authors. It seems to be a welcoming place to find and share ideas. I was a journalist for many years and have two nonfiction books to my credit, but my great desire is to write novels, and I’m fulfilling that desire. Two of my novels, THE JYNX and THE DREAM DANCER, are highlighted on my website (www.kennethccrowe.com). You can read an excerpt from THE JYNX or the entire THE DREAM DANCER on the website.
Very happy to have found this place and all of you. |

| Hi Kenneth: I'm recently new here myself but it's a good group--both supporting and critical--but not censoring. My background may be similar to yours. My education is in engineering and journalism, the former applied to technical writing in the aerospace industry and the latter as a magazine editor. Eventually the desire to write fiction, particularly novels, won out over verity. My WIP is my third novel, all of which I set in Southern Africa. I've written quite a number of short stories too, all published singly or in collections, or about to be. I'm afraid the money was in salaried non fiction though. Welcome aboard.

| Hi Kenneth,
Nice to meet you. Best of luck with your fiction. I used to be a college journalism instructor and student publications advisor. It was amazing how many others on the English Department staff tended to see the journalism minor as the black sheep of the family. I kept telling them that as long as they all read newspapers, they needed me. Plus, many of the greats they talked about in their classes got their start as reporters. When your fiction hits the bestseller list, I'll be able to say, "see, there's another novelist who learned "the 5 Ws and the H" before turning to fiction.
