| We are planning on going out to eat.
The kids won't be here and I don't feel like cooking. That could change, though. I am getting off pre surgical and post surgical drugs and may feel a lot better and have more energy. |

| Joe,
I can't eat too much. I am diabetic like, you. I do miss the days when I could stuff anything down my piehole.
How many mashed potatoes do you eat? They are my favorite thing. |

| I'm not serving this year. Jaycie's grandfather has decided we should all be together, since Jaycie and her mom and dad will be here, and is hosting an extended family gathering. All I've heard so far is that it will be non-traditional.
It is amazing, the power wielded by an 18-month-old child. Go figure.
(For those who don't know, Jaycie is my granddaughter. Her grandfather is my ex.)

| Ann,
I am so glad you are forgiving. It makes life easier for you and everyone else. You can all be together and enjoy yourselves and your beautiful granddaughter.
You are a fine example to everyone. |

| Surprise, surprise! Our friends may come and we will pool efforts. I will provide the house, table, decorations, potatoes sweet and white mashed and gravy. My friends will bring the rest.
This all depends on the weather. Sure hope it snows or is forecast to snow. |

| Ahhhh.
This year I am cooking a 24.9 pound turkey. I have no idea why. I imagine it is for the old times of no food on the table...sick I am. I will make potatoes, mashed (well squished through the antique ricer I found at the Goodwill) gravy from the giblets and neck meat, greens from the garden, squash au gratin from the garden, cucumbers sliced fresh, bread crumb dressing...way too much food.
Sometimes I wonder about our glut at Thanksgiving.
For me or for my David, a small sandwich is enough. Yet,we do this extravaganza of cooking every year. I freeze as much as I can and put the carcass out to the hungry creature round about. I get older. I see no sense in the way we have always done it.
I wonder about it.
How do I, me, myself, out here in the wilderness, my David and I change Thanksgiving? Love, Betty

| Dinner is still up in the air for us, We will have breakfast with our son and his wife and my mother-in-law at our house. We have a friend who will be with us. the couple we were planning on eating out with had the misfortune of having the wife hospitalized. If she is up to it, out, we will go. |

| David,
You will be most welcome.
Time changes things. the weather has turrned nasty and our son and wife will be here for dinner instead of breakfast.
Dinner will be mashed potato and gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, salad, homemade bread, dressing with fry chick, cranberrry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
David, bring your wife and we will have eight people. |
