By now everyone knows that the Duchess of York was selling access to her ex-husband. What I don't get is what's the big deal. Like this isn't done every day in the US (lobbyists buying access to politicians). Those with connections work them.
I never understood why she settled for such a paltry sum when she divorced Andrew. He's from one of the richest families in the world, she could have gotten more than $20K/year. Supposedly it was to "maintain cordial relations with the royal family." LOLl, does that mean that THEY can be bought, too? "Don't charge me much and I'll be nice to you?" |

| In general, I object to journalists setting up scams to catch newsworthy public figures. They wouldn't waste their time setting up a sting to catch John Doe. Think of the real criminals who escape penal judgment daily. Why not catch them on camera? Too dangerous? _________________ Shelagh Watkins http://shelaghwatkins.co.uk/

Princess Diana was smarter, when she got divorced she received hundreds of millions of dollars plus property. The rumor also goes she had info on Prince Charles and his butler and a houseman who was in the hospital at the time, she went to see him and secretly recorded the inflamatory story he had to tell....Evidently she played this tape to Charles and I'm sure he turned white as a sheet....As for Fergie I can't for the life of me understand why she only accepted 2 million , why not 200 million, I wouldn't settle for less....
Cheers..Joe |

| Sarah Ferguson was guest speaker at Book Expo: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/27/books/27bea.html?ref=books Interesting at the end of the article, it says: | Quote: | | “The hype never matches up with reality,” Mr. Norris said. “There’s money to be made in e-books. There’s money to be made in print books too. There’s no reason why publishers shouldn’t pursue both and just not let the hyperbole get out of control.” |
So, not a question of either or; there's money to be made in both ebooks and print books. _________________ Shelagh Watkins http://shelaghwatkins.co.uk/
