PostSubject: Being Mormon   Mon Jun 22, 2009 3:08 am

First, this thread is not intended to preach my religion or to incite any confrontations. It is intended to speak a little about being a Mormon and an offer to answer questions, if there be any, about different aspects of this growing religion. I believe I'm the only Mormon that posts here, at least the only one to come out of the closet. Perhaps no one here has an interest and I can understand that and I respect that. But, hey, maybe your thinking of putting an LDS character in an upcoming ms as a twist and you want to research. Please be advised that if anyone does comment here or ask a question that my response (if I give one) is strictly my opinion and does not reflect an official church response. I will indicate if I know something to be accurate information.

So, are there any comments or questions? Incidentally, my GG Grandfather lived in Salt Lake as an orphan in the home of Brigham Young and in the late 1800's become mayor of a town in Utah called Alpine, where two of my grandparents were born. I am pursuing the idea of writing about his life.

Charlie, I'm glad you are sharing this part of your life with us. I had a dear friend who was Mormon and we used to meet once a month with a couple other friends (all of us had varying beliefs) and it was a wonderful time of sharing and exploring each others' faith.

I'll bet the story about your GG Grandfather would be very interesting.

My immediate family is a blend of so many religions, including LDS.

And I have been to Salt Lake City more times than I can remember.

I will tell you what, since Utah sets up its street system based on the location of the temple, once you figure that out, you can find any address!! Heh!

But I think Utah (St. George) is the only place where I ever saw a Denny's that was CLOSED on a Holiday. Unbelievable!!!
