One comment I've seen so far is that publishers may not want to take the risk on a 240,000-word novel by an unknown. Perhaps not, but I want to avoid POD on this one for a lot of reasons including the fact that the resulting retail price wouldn't be competitive with mainstream books.

That's one reason other publishers avoid books of that length, Malcolm.

It's cool you would post your own query letters for examination like that.
