I would just like to know, i have been writing stories and illustrating as a hobby for a feww years now, and ideally i would like to be pointed in the right direction on what to do next, if any body could give advice it would be much appreciated.

If your artwork is really good, you stand a better chance at illustrating than you do at writing. Publishers are always on the lookout for good illustrators.
