Oh...what does surprise me is that Simon & Schuster would publish work written by such a careless writer. On the other hand, we have to produce perfect, polished manuscripts. Beggars belief, doesn't it?

Publishers interested in producing quality work offer little editing? I didn't know that.

It looks like there should be a "no"t in there. As in, if the publisher doesn't offer editing, they are not interested in producing quality work.

You know what kdu meant to write. Why does this not surprise me?

It's called inference. Nothing special about reading a sentence and guessing the missing word.

C'mon.

...and you were the only one to infer that "not" had been omitted? We were all too thick to realise?

C'mon.

Nooooooooooooooooo you were the one you inferred my inference as me being related to kdu in some way.

I mean, really why do I bother with such a bunch of petty, selfish and rude people? I think I'll post on another board instead. One could only take so much unmoderated stupidity.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so open minded.

These are not the same person? Really?

"Nooooooooooooooooo you were the one you inferred my inference as me being related to kdu in some way." Would I be correct in inferring that this sentence doesn't make sense? Should I infer that there's a semicolon or a full stop missing?

This thread has certainly taken an interesting twist.

For what it's worth, I figured out that kdu had omitted a couple of words from his post. I knew what he meant, though, from the gist of his previous posts. I'm guessing everyone else here did, too, they were just razzing kdu.

Who is this?

He's connected to NetBSD (as shown in Chris's avatar). One of NetBSD's forums (Daemon) has a new member with the username kdu:

What a coincidence.
