Glacier Park Donation from Publisher

Vanilla Heart Publishing announced this morning that it will donate a portion of the profits from the new release of my novel "The Sun Singer" to Glacier National Park's centennial program during the next three months.

The novel is set in the park and it's rather coincidental that it reached Vanilla Heart and ended up being released during the same year as Glacier's 100th birthday.

Hi Sue,

I met the Hollies when I was a student. I was invited to a Ball by the President of the Student Union and the Hollies were top of the bill. They used the Presidential suite as their dressing room.

Writers are often asked who their role models are. And when they're not asked, critics often suggest their own answers.

I never know how to answer this question because: (a) nobody stands out as a role model, (b) I was probably influenced by a batch of authors while reading books and stories for English Lit classes, and (c) I would take it as a discount if somebody said my writing as like somebody else's writing.

When I read, I tend to notice what an author is doing and perhaps subconsciously ...

Several nurses helped with smiling faces as I confiscated one of the few heating pads, had very good pasta fagioli soup and jello from the hospital kitchen, and came on this computer, read and nodded off a few times, as my husband sat beside me reading, other than his lunch at our local Kiwanis meeting.

Meanwhile those here were concerned about posts being deleted copied, whatever. ...

Good for a college mythology class I suppose, but useless for a fan

when you can have the genuine thing?

For the purpose of "new age" spirituality

Working from a false assumption

that Man is essentially good,

will lead us down destruction's path

as History has taught us, as it would.

The fight for supremacy

of our human souls

is still being waged by the Devil

under his planetary control.

Humanism has its agenda

that's carefully worked under Satan's scope -

After the death of my earthly flesh,

Ahhh... Immortality.

Is there a more or less standard format for book submissions?

It seems like the publisher could get picky after they decided to take the book.

Spending hours and hours refomatting is tedious.

I wonder if this is a subtle way to discourage submissions.

"We would love to look at your book. please submit in Swahilli, single spaced 1.5 inch margins, 1/2 inch paragraph indentions gotten by use of a tab-not a space bar...

and our cultural upbringings,

we're more than brothers of Mankind -

Technically, we're kin.

Go to the mountain

preserved by ice and snow

where the revelation of Ararat's secret

is available for everyone to know.

For the ark's existence

proves the global flood story is true

and being our brother's keeper...

Is still a right thing to do.

Descended from Noah

see our palms have the same tint -

By a show of hands.

a perfect creation had fallen away;

unimagined grace poured out from our God above -

As His Hand of wrath was firmly stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill...

subtly calls for the World's attention.

Since the dawn of everlasting time,

our Savior awaited His appointed day;

despite humanity's race to certain doom -

His Hand of wrath was intentionally stayed.

I am fascinated with women in the Bible. But wait a moment. Why read (and write) about women in the Bible? Are they still relevant today?

A while ago, I participated in a symposium on women of the Bible at which a lady in the audience asked: Why should we be interested in biblical women? They were concerned mainly with marriage and bearing sons, while we, today, have so many more ambitions for our lives.

But this is very challenging question, is based on a misconception. While the women ...

Hello, I am 18 years old and 65,000 words into writing my book. I was just posting here for some constructive criticism or if possible, apporval. Basically the character has amnesia (I know its a cliche, but I make it work) and is all alone on the Earth. He has been struggling for weeks to survive and he has had enough of being trapped in what he thinks is a desert (I have many plot twists and themes experienced in the book, so everything is not as it seems). Anyway, here is my first chapter:-

awash in the internet sea,

in defiance of critical naysayers,

the blankness of virtual paper

is scribbled upon with hurt, hope and ideals.
