I'm surprised that this is still available, but I sure a glad it
is! Good Ol' Boys remained in the top ten in the humor genre' for
several weeks and received some great reviews. One of them by my friend
Edd Voss (A Tree for America) is a better synopsis than I could have
written:

Take five Good Ol Boys, one of whom is a good Southern
Preacher add in the need for large amounts of catfish, and some shall we say
nontraditional methods of catching fish, fry it all up with slaw and
Hushpuppies then you'll have one funny story to share with everyone you know.
Phil Whitley deftly weaves the threads of Southern Religion with Good Ol Boy
inventiveness to leave us all with a smile on our face that will be there for a
long time. It will return every time we think about catfishin. Author Edd Voss

And if you take a look, check out the very top review there by author,
Linda Shelnutt. I don't know this lady, but that's the way to write a
review!

Have a look at GOOD OL' BOYS ~ CATFISHIN', and if you can squeeze out 49 cents, download it for a fun read!

Great reviews Phil--you know things are taking off when someone you don't know comes out and puts something like that in the public eye. Good on ya!

Catfishin is catchy. Seems you have good bait.

Thanks, Pam and Abe. I had the second in the series ready when Amazon
Shorts stopped taking submissions. The characters are an amalgamation
of very real people from my childhood home. Some of the events actually
happened!

I had all but forgotten Amazon Shorts until you mentioned it, Brew. I ran out of stories that never found a home elsewhere so I didn't pay attention to the program. Do you know why they quit accepting submissions? It seems that I read something about that months ago. Has Amazon given up on the project?

E.Don Harpe could answer that better than I, Dick, but I think they
were going to "re-vamp" the Shorts program. It was supposed to have
gone back on-line in June, but I haven't heard anything. I may not now
- with the Amazon vs POD publishers thing going on. To qualify for the
program you must have a book listed on Amazon. Mine is still listed,
but with no "BUY" button.

I don't think that would matter. I could be wrong, of course.
