| I think that life is too short to worry about the end of the world. I'd rather be on the side of the fence where we celebrate living, nurture the world and all of us that live in it and look forward to the future rathen than preparing for "the end". That may seen way to "Pollyanna" for some I suspect, but it's how I am. Besides, when they spell it as "meat its end" ... _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| Personally, I think 2012 is a tad early. In 1995, Zimbabwean witch doctor cast his bones and told me I would live to be 86. That occurs for me in 2020. In 2000 a palm reader in Barbados, five years and 10,000 miles removed from the witch doctor, confirmed the witchdoctor's findings, and I'm willing to bet that one man does not know the other, hence no collusion. The palmist too said I don't go out of print till I'm 86--the year 2020. So the Earth can't fail me in 2012. If one can't trust those learned gentlemen, the world might as well end. I'm not arranging any book signings for 2021.

| | Throughout history, there have always been groups of people who insist that the end of the world or even the end of time itself is only a few years away and historically they have always been wrong. The idea that time could have a beginning or an end is as illigical as the idea that a circle could have a beginning or an end. People sometimes claim that there will be major dasasters or prehapse the collapse of civilization in 2012, but the odds of these events happening are no greater in 2012 than they are in any other year. It is highly probabal that 2012 will be an ordanary year. |

| I'm with you guys. Too many times I've seen the signs, "Repent the end is near" to believe any of them. I think it is all a scare tactic! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| Crap! The end times have been predicted for thousands of years. The wave of recent "end times" reports was predicted for the year 2000. The books written for profit to support it with calculations, etc., and people still haven't learned.
My opinion: It is another scare tactic designed for profit. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| I believe a divine being is in control, and when people come up with these predictions, they are out of line, making predictions in a realm they have no control over. A volcano could erupt, as has occurred in the past, and certainly other disasters have and could occur.
I plan on my grandchildren living to middle age and having grandchildren.

| London Olympics 2012. End of the world 2012. Could this be more than a coincidence? _________________ Shelagh Watkins http://shelaghwatkins.co.uk/ |

| I'm with Pam. Life is too short to worry about it. Although now I'll probably be worrying about it anyway. But it's probably a bunch of hooey (I hope). _________________ Pol McShane www.polmcshane.com www.johnnyjoey.com |

| Shelagh, you're right on target. With that theme you can write and sell lots of books. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| | Some people, such as some religious groups, seem to want the world to end so that their savior can return to the earth and take them all to heaven or something like that. Others seem to want to spread end-times beliefs to make people fearful in order to pursuade them to join a perticular religious group or to buy a spicific book. This end-times stuff is a bunch of nonsense. |

| I have it on good authority that the earth does not die until the year 5.5/Apple/26 or in other words the year 5,000,000,000.
Here's the link that explains what will happen:
http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Earth
You have to arrow down to the paragraph entitled: destruction of the earth.
So, go on then, LIVE LIKE YOU MEAN IT! The earth is sticking around for a long time. _________________ ~ JoElle ~ http://www.joellemartin.com

Are you sure that's not 5.5/pc/26? _________________ Shelagh Watkins http://shelaghwatkins.co.uk/ |

| Forest, I tried to mark that date on my calendar but couldn't find it. I did locate it however on the calander. It is shown on February 30th of that year. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| This is encouraging news. I have often said and written that I have no fear of dying too soon but have great fear of living too long. So it looks like I'm off the hook. Actually, I have no expectations of being alive in 2012. But say that I am - we can all form a ring, hold hands and go out together. I had no expectations of living to the year 2000, of course. Nor did I have any of living until 1990. I can recall having little chance of living to see 1945. So all I can really say is to hell with all predictions. _________________ Mystery Writers of America, Private Eye Writers of America www.dickstodghill.com |
