| My husband had his hip replaced on Friday and is now home recovering. I have some problems with mobility but am doing better.
But, here we are and I thought I'd just give you a little report on our day yesterday and some of the things I've learned recently.
1. We each have a walker. (I can go faster but I try not to show off. We are not yet racing down the hall, but my husband is very competitive, and later this week, who knows.)
2. Getting dressed when your legs are weak, is somewhat difficult. Sometimes I get my clothes on backwards and it is impossible to wear your underwear backwards all day.
3. Our daughter spent the day with us, getting us set up with little tables of stuff, a little row of books, snacks, etc.
4. My two daughters who live close by have gotten very close, call each other several times a day, probably "what are we going to do about Mom and Dad?" conversations.
5. Her last task of the day was making sure her parents were safely in bed, with our cell phones close by in case we needed to call her on her cell phone in the guest room. I asked for a story and another glass of water, but got neither. This is my daughter I carried, pushed on swings, drove to activities, and even helped move her belongings from residence to residence.
6. I am going to google the Pope and find out how to apply for sainthood for this daughter.
Today is a new day. I am getting better thanks to treatment and getting off some unneeded meds.
Thanks to all of you for being here. Today I'm going to begin reading Forever Friends!

| Dear Carol,
What a great post! I laughed out loud at the picture in my mind of you and your husband racing walkers down the hallway! I hate when I put my underwear on backwards, too! Not something that you can just live with all day.
You are so lucky to have such wonderful daughters! If the pope needs a second motion for sainthood for your daughter, I'll be there!
Thanks for the smile this morning! Keep getting better!
Love,
Helen _________________ Helen Wisocki www.innocencebetrayedbyclergy.com www.freewebs.com/helenwisocki |

| Hang in there, Carol. Things always look bad just before they get much worse. But not for you, I'm sure. Glad your daughters are close by. _________________ Mystery Writers of America, Private Eye Writers of America www.dickstodghill.com |

| Carol, your sense of humor is wonderful. I laughed until there were tears in my eyes. I am glad you have daughters to help care for you and your husband. I'll go along with Helen on the sainthood vote! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| That's the cutest post, Carol. Loved reading it. And of course I wish both of you a speedy recovery. Have to race those walkers, you know. It's closer to winter and the neighbors need something fun to watch.

| For some reason, in my mind it seems it would be much easier for a lady to wear her underwear backwards than for a man to do so.
Great post Carol, but then again, you've made many great posts in the couple of years we've been hanging around these boards.
As far as the walker race. Perhaps you can get one with a motor. |

| I was thinking the same as Don regarding underwear. I just didn't have the nerve to say it. Carol, when the time comes I bet I can beat both of you with my rollator. Maybe you should look into getting one. They're great. _________________ Mystery Writers of America, Private Eye Writers of America www.dickstodghill.com |

| Just so you know Don and Dick, underwear backwards for girls makes it practically impossible to sit down. Guys have much more comfortable underwear I think. That's probably why they've started making girls undies look like guys undies. Ah, space!
Carol, watch those walker races. I've seen folks in the seniors place try it, and they are quite sneaky about it. They'll blame the walker for "drifting" into their opponents lane, they'll "accidently" lose control. They're incorrigible! When they have the model that has a seat on it, they'll even sneak things from one another to start a chase! The laughter is usually quick and loud, which is wonderful! And the added benefit is that if you're both able to race, that you're both up and zooming around, and that's just got to be good!
Give your daughter a virtual high five from me. My sister is about to head home 5000 kms to help my parents in the same way. Daughters are being good everywhere! _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| There is an old saying: Your son is your son 'til he takes a wife. Your daughter is your daughter the rest of your life. Now I'm not taking sides here, but from reading the comments on the forum, that saying just might be true. _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| So happy for you that you have wonderful and loving daughters, but I am sure that they learned that from their parents. Your sense of humor is precious.

| Pam, you mean people cheat during walker races? I've always said you couldn't trust those old fogies. _________________ Mystery Writers of America, Private Eye Writers of America www.dickstodghill.com |
