| Sure, Pam. Walking and knitting. Uh huh. Hey, I do good to walk and think. I'm so used to sitting at the blankety-blank computer that I don't walk like I should. But I'm gonna resolve to do better. I want to be like Abe, eat what I want and then exercise it off. Well, at least walk it off. _________________ www.brendahill.com www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cu6YeS9_Ro |

| Brenda - that's why I didn't recommend knitting and walking at the same time - I can just see people everywhere falling over and breaking bones as they get caught up in the yarn! Same with walking and keyboarding at the same time - bad idea. Now that it's spring (well this week at least!) I am out and about more already. I expect we could have another late dump of snow but the grass is greening up and there are crocuses springing up all over which always is much more inviting to get out and about. Or as we say up here...oot and aboot. _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| Sounds beautiful there. We had a few days of summer, temps climbing to high eighties and low nineties. I much prefer sixties and seventies. It's supposed to cool off again, which I'm happy about, before real summer starts.
Instead of a pretty summer like it sounds you have, everything here burns off in the hundred-plus-degree heat and turns brown. _________________ www.brendahill.com www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cu6YeS9_Ro |

| It`s funny really - it is very pretty here, the grass and greenery will be lush and the flowers gorgeous. The smell in the mornings is wonderful - right norw a combination of salt water and damp grass. Funny, though, that so many people head to where it gets super heated. Me, I am definately a temperate zone person. I did visit Disneyland and San Diego when my kids were young. You knew who the Canadians were because it was March in and we were all in shorts and t-shirts. The Disney staff, however, were still wearing long wool coats and gloves.
It`s all relative... _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| Gosh, we could be triplets! I prefer temperate climes as well. Here, we had one day of summer last weekend, then a day of spring, and back to winter. I think Mother Nature lost her calendar! We are supposed to be through with the hail and snow stuff already! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| Well since it's hijacked anyway...we are in full spring here for the moment. Twitterpated birdies, galloping bunnies and greening grass...so far so good, but I don't want to say it too loud in case we get a late snow squall or some other nonsense like that. Shhh... _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| Thanks for the offer, Brenda. However, the 80 degree heat would not be too good here--the humidity is high, and 60 degrees here is shorts and shortsleeve weather! I do just fine at 40 to 70 degrees, anything higher is time for the air conditioner! I think I am a misplaced Eskimo! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| Years ago, an agent told me that with the exception of a few classics, adults won't read books with teenaged protagonists in them and teenagers won't read books written for adults.
This makes it difficult to write realistic Y/A books and get them published since "the rules" cause some publishers to push authors to tone down the very thing the teens are looking for.
Malcolm
P.S. Rowling's success has been seen as such an odd thing that it doesn't seem to have changed publishers' notion about adults reading books with young protagonists. So, calling a teen novel and adult novel isn't working as well as we might hope. What a paradox! _________________ Malcolm R. Campbell
