Yes, The Discovery Channel's parent company, Discovery Communications, is suing Amazon for patent infringement involving the Kindle and the Kindle 2. While they don't want to stop the manufacture and sale of the device, they do want their fair share of compensation. Of course, this will probably drive the price up!

So Discovery isn't suing to stop Amazon from using its (alleged) patent property, it simply wants a piece of the action. Common tactic of people who file patents with no intent to do anything with them except cash in on the people who do the hard work making the patent useful. A major problem of our current patent system. I hope they lose.
